Your Immediate Help is Needed - FLOOD RELIEF FUND
A terrible flood has washed away crops in Yangshuo County. Many of our Blessing Hands families and their schools have been affected.
My hometown was troubled by flood. All of the corn was covered by water. The green oranges got yellow and fell down.
The flood took all of my family's harvest."

Gloria Wei, who is over all the primary schools in Yangshuo, as well as our Blessing Hands administrator, traveled to the schools in rural Yanshuo County to access flood damage and checked on our Blessing Hands children's families.
A Guangxi friend tells me that the rice crop will have to be replanted unless it is too wet before the planting time passes. They usually get two rice crops a year. The cold weather in January wasn't good for the citrus harvest either. Imagine what the water did to the rural dirt roads. Houses made of mud bricks in the countryside are not very stable in hard rain.
Zhang Lufei Drowned in the Flood
One of our students, Zhang Lufei, drown in the recent flood in Yangshuo. Little girls are not suppose to die young. On the 13th of June 2008 she fell into a ditch of rushing water. Efforts to save her were unsuccessful and "She did not live on." She was 8 years old and attended Aishan Primary School. We are determined that she will “live on” and have established a Girl’s Fund to honor her and help other girls in Yangshuo with their education.
